It's OFficial - I've Got a Part Time Job...

As of this past Saturday, I am officially a member of the Coolidge Corner Theatre family. If you don’t live in Boston, The Coolidge is the best indie movie/revival house around. Not only do they show some of the best independent features, they have shorts programs, book signings, amateur porn nights, Buffy sing-a-longs, Freaks and Geeks Pajama Parties, midnight movies, female wrestling, high school film classes, children’s events, and a movie house pet cat named Ticket that funnily enough took a shirt in the main theatre Saturday night!

It’s hipster city when you look at the employees so somehow I must be the uncoolest thirtysomething working there – I’ve got the fauxhawk and the tattoos so maybe I’m not that out of the loop.

I’m excited to be part of the indie scene here in Boston as The Coolidge gets tons of events for filmmakers (national and local) and I’m hoping this could really help me meet some more film people in the Boston area to keep me motivated.

My first night there, we were screening March of The Penguins, Me and You and Everyone We Know, Mad Hot Ballroom, and a local documentary called The Minutemen. The midnight movies were Steamboy, and are you ready for this… Deep Throat! What?
